America's Night Out Against Crime

Last Night I visited the plaza where members of the Santa Fe City Police, Sheriff, State Police, and City and County Fire Departments, along with the New Mexico National Guard and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, participated in America's 23rd Annual Night Out against Crime.

It was a true community event with a Band, Cake Walks, Cotton Candy, Snow Cones, Popcorn, Games and Prizes. Each agency had booths with information, specialty vehicles and robots on display and lots of free stuff for the kids. The National Guard had a basketball toss game and one of the biggest hits a rock climbing tower.

The organizers did a great job of putting on the event and deserve much accolades for their hard work. The event was well attended by many locals who came out to celebrate National Night Out. Here are some pictures of the event. I apologize to the City Fire Department and the County Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department as well as the National Guard, I forgot to take pictures of their displays.
